We are sure you’ve dabbled with this kind of hit. You know the kind that gets in-your-face, gritty and relentless. Irish Whisper is ready to inhale. That’s why we ripped it with native scriptwriter/actor Adriano Masciarelli.

Masciarelli passed it smoothly to Hollywood East Connection.  “I started writing the script back in June 2011. I locked myself in my room, paced back and forth, developing these characters. I didn’t want a typical Hollywood happy ending.”

As he packed his set with quit a crew, Adriano was interrupted by text, that he no longer could use the working title, The Company I Keep. Masciarelli didn’t hesitate to bang out a new one. “My cousin and I came up with the title,” Adriano tells us. “We were sitting there yelling out Irish what?… and all of a sudden, Irish Whisper, bitch! Aight! Let’s roll!”

Lowell to Marshvegas, this film was busted in Massachusetts for nine days. Multiple headshots, drugs, and a brotherly friendship stab this Boston heights drama. The lead, Jimmy, acted by Nick Apostolides, has spent a good amount of time in jail. He has finished his sentence and wants redemption. Unfortunately, an operator away is his reckless best friend, Billy, held by Adriano, who has him on-the-line.

“Billy’s character is a pathological liar, a junky.” Adriano tells us. “He doesn’t want to commit himself into anything without his friend Jimmy. Any time Billy gets Jimmy involved, Jimmy is always the one who gets screwed. And for some reason Billy can convince Jimmy to do practically anything.”

Masciarelli didn’t sit back and visualize his character Billy. He slummed it in Dorchester and Southie. “I literally went into the ghetto and hung out with crack heads, “Adriano tells us. “I hung out with the people that did bad things. Irish Whisper stands out because there is a lot of violence and authenticity behind it.”

With blood bleeding the script and bricks of cocaine, Masciarelli and Producer Darren McDonald almost got clinked off set, “We needed 30 bricks that resembled cocaine for a scene,” Adriano tells us. “A couple days after the shoot, Darren and I got pulled over for a faulty light. Darren reminds me that the bricks are still in the trunk! The cop gave us a warning, but then came back and said something was hanging out of the trunk. Darren stepped out of the car. I was waiting for the gun to be in my face. Darren barely opened the trunk, pushes whatever it was inside and said good night officer! Sat down and wiped the sweat off his face!” Now that’s a scene from a movie.

We asked Masciarelli for his license and registration. This South Shore Italian was born in Quincy, MA, and grew up in downtown Plymouth. Adriano comes from a big family, supported parents, and even has some Hollywood blood. He recently learned that Peggy Marshall, Laverne of Laverne and Shirley, is his relative. The script writer has a few more Hollywood genes including a cousin on “Entourage”.

If the idea of six degrees of separation is true, Adriano, is only a hand shake away from shaking Mark Wahlberg’s hand in a deal. “I would love to bring this project to Mark,” Adriano tells us. “Not because I like the funky bunch. The reason is, I think Mark would like it and Mark’s the real Boston BAD ASS  that can make it happen!”

Wahlberg isn’t in the picture yet, but his entourage is.  Masciarelli is networking with not only Mark’s associates, a couple NFL Agents that work with Mark and AquaHydrate the water company that Mark is involved with sponsored Irish Whisper. Also Wahlberg’s associate, Aaron Zells personally told Adriano that he wants to see the finished project and talk about developing a television series. Director Ben Proulx, who Adriano also deems as a BAD ASS director, is out in LA refining the trailer.

Pre Irish Whisper, Adriano was working on movie sets, now he built the set, selected the unbelievable cast & crew, sealed it with an Irish Whisper and will have an 8 minute trailer for distribution early this summer. Go Adriano, Cast & Crew!

And guess what Boston? Get ready to slate! “I wouldn’t even take a deal, if it didn’t get filmed in Dorchester or Southie,” Adriano tells us. “I honestly couldn’t be more happier and blessed with the outcome of this film. God Bless to all involved.”
