Meet me in ‘Massachusetts’? That’s right! After years of betting, Casinos and Massachusetts line up. The Governor suited up and flushed Massachusetts with three resort-style casinos and a single parlor. Gaming is hot to trot and not leaving the border makes the odds look even better.
Massachusetts draws a 40 in states that have legalized Casinos. Even if you don’t bet slots provide entertainment and hundreds of JOBS. More lights, camera and action here in Mass? We think it’s a winner.
“Expanded gaming in Massachusetts, for me, is about creating jobs. Good jobs at good wages for people all across the Commonwealth,” Patrick said.

First on deck is to draw five gaming members that will commission all bets for proposed casinos. These five will then be paired with a division of gaming enforcement who will also work with the state police gaming unit. Now that’s a hand. Those picked to investigate the scene will have to fold at all casinos here in Massachusetts.
The law permits the Gaming Co to roll on one casino in each of the three regions. Mohegan Sun, Hard Rock and Ameristar Casinos are all rumored to be scouting in Western Mass. And let’s not bet against the Patriots who might not be the only game in Foxboro, a hand has been dealt involving Robert Kraft. The selected spots will be required to pay an $85 million fee and pledge to invest $500 million in their casinos. Each casino will be taxed at 25 percent of their gambling revenue, and the slot parlor will be taxed at 49 percent.
The stakes are high in a state that can’t serve ‘happy hour’ and now will be able serve free adult beverages on all the casino floors. The state liquor laws and casino laws will have to match up. No other Massachusetts business is allowed to serve free drinks.
And unlike most bills that aren’t pulled for 90 days. This project is already underway. A slot parlor is waged for 2014 and the first casino possibly will debut in 2016. It sounds futuristic but its only years away.
