Getting Into Character
Looking for something to do this weekend? Anime Boston, New England’s largest annual celebration of Japanese animation, comics and pop culture will be at the Hynes Convention Center and the Sheraton Hotel this weekend Friday, April 2 to Sunday, April 4.
This year, Anime Boston will be presenting events which include panels and discussions, a masquerade, an artists’ alley and art show, karaoke, game shows, video games, dances and much more.
While some Hollywood Easters may not be fanatical about anime, there are still some informative events that might interest them. There are several voice actor and writing panels for those interested in a voiceover career or writing. There is also a helpful panel entitled “How to work with your Artist/Writer” that discusses freelance work and partnerships from both the artist and writer perspective. While these will be anime-centric, they can provide a lot of helpful information regarding ways to go about your own film, television or web projects.
Although pre-registration is now closed, weekend and individual day passes are being sold at the door. Make sure to check out their website for more information about tickets and programs.
