Boston might be the central point of Hollywood East, but it still has a long way to go in comparison to the likes of L.A. in terms of celebrity spotting. However, with the growing number of movies and TV shows filming in the area, combined with the number of sports star that call Boston home (at least while they are in-season), its no surprise that certain places around town are becoming hotspots for celeb spotting.
One such spot, Hillstone (formerly known as Houston’s), located in front of Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, has definitely had its fair share of famous clientele. From Denis Leary, to Dane Cook, to a number of reality stars, and Red Sox players, the small but popular restaurant is known for its great drinks and french fries.
Because of its close proximity to the Boston TD Banknorth Garden, its not uncommon to find a basketballer seated for dinner. Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce have been known to frequent the establishment. Celtics star Kendrick Perkins, who missed the last game of this year’s NBA finals with a torn MCL and PCL in his knee, is one of Hillstone’s best customers. The 6’10”, 280 pound, 25 year old center has been known to order expensive meals totaling into the hundreds of dollars, and tips somewhere close to 70% most of the time. Nice to hear that some of those millions they make get spread around a bit!
