Conan O’Brien may have a contract with NBC that prohibits him from television until September, but it doesn’t say anything about the “red head” taking his act on the road.  The native Bostonian is New England bound as part of a two-month-long, 30 city, live performance across the country and into Canada that is titled “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television”.

O’Brien tweeted the news, “Hey Internet: I’m headed to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour. Go to http://TeamCoco.com for tix. I repeat: It’s half-assed.” Conan will kick off his tour April 12th in Eugene, Ore., and it won’t just be Mr. O’Brien up on stage but his side kick Andy Richter and O’Brien’s former Max Weinberg and the Tonight Show band.

The tour will hit Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theater June 4th and 5th and Mohegan Sun on June 6th. You can purchase tickets through ticketmaster or Conan’s official site. And if sitting in the balcony at the Wang Theater just isn’t enough, you can purchase the Meet and Greet Package” for $695.00 which includes but not limited to meeting Conan, sitting front row and even enjoying a few cocktails in the lounge leading up to the show.  If you can’t shell out that much to meet Conan, there are other ticket options including the “Hot Sound/Hot Seat Package’s” and the American Express-sponsored tour ticket prices start at $39.50.

Whether you’re a VIP or enjoy the show in the back row, this may just be the hottest act to see this summer.  With so much speculation around where we would see Conan next, the Massachusetts native surprises us with a hilarious tour that will be full of spontaneous improv, great music and the best unscripted material. I saw Conan on tour the other night and it was awesome. I can’t wait for his new show to come to TBS. It will be the beginning of a new chapter in late night television.
