It’s hard to believe Memorial Day is only weeks away. As we continue to patiently wait for the nice weather to appear, the unofficial first weekend of summer is almost here. Do you have any hip plans yet?
Why not kick it into summer gear with the Hollywood East film community at the ever so chic Blue 22 on Saturday May 28th for the infamous Filmmaker’s Shindig? It’s a night dedicated to hardworking New England talent. Even if you haven’t heard of about this networking event, consider yourself invited!
Co-founders Chuck Slavin and Jenna Lunarno first came up with the idea when they were sitting in holding as extras on set. The rest is history because the fashionable event has been digging for years. The Filmmaker’s Shindig is certainly the place to be to start the summer with some hot connections.
Looping your work on the plasma TVs, hearing good tunes from DJ Dan, getting snapshots taken by the house photographer, Lelia Asher, and mingling with shindiggers equals a wicked night. Along with local talent, the Executive Director of the Quincy Film Bureau, Mark Carey will be digging it up to.
Slavin tells HEC, “What excites me is the fact movies are back in town, and the legislature is supportive of the credit.” Networking is the key to working like “Big Roger De” and now it’s time to start moving forward and get back to networking here in Hollywood East!
The founders have created a FB Shindig invite to confirm your attendance. No big deal if you can’t commit just yet. But if you’re in the Quincy area and want to schmooze with the film community, check yourself into Blue 22 in Quincy, MA. Doors open at 9pm.
See you there!
