Universal’s It’s Complicated opened in the wake of Santa’s sleigh yesterday, providing post-present entertainment for moviegoers burnt out on Christmas classics.
From the writer/director of Something’s Gotta Give, Nancy Meyers, the romantic comedy stars Salisbury, CT transplant Meryl Streep and Newton, MA native John Krasinski, best known for his role as Jim Halpert in NBC’s “The Office.” Streep has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actress for her work in the film; It’s Complicated has also won the National Board of Review Award for Best Cast. Way to go, Hollywood East!
Meyers’ movie tells the tale of a divorced-for-a-decade couple–Jane (Streep) and Jake (Alec Baldwin)–who reunite at their son’s college graduation. A passionate love affair ensues, complicated by Jake’s remarriage to a much younger woman, and Jane’s fling with Adam (Steve Martin), the architect remodeling her kitchen. Can the exes make it work a second time around?
With 2010 just days away, new (or renewed!) love could be in store for you, too. Watch the trailer below for some tips from the pros. Or in the very least, catch a glimpse of your next date movie.
