It’s hard to stay productive when summer arrives so we’ll leave that up to production film crews like Carousel Productions who are gearing up to have a fling this July in one of the nicest beach towns around, Marshfield. I’m totally a bias native as is Humarock beach boy Steve Carell.
News has been buzzing that Carell, cast and crew are getting ready to work on their tans in Marshvegas on, Way, Way, Back Again. A feature flick about a teenager who gains courage over the course of summer to stand up to his drunk stepfather, rolled by Carell. Filming is also slated for Wareham. We hear Billy Dowd Casting will be casting backround for this project. And we are assuming Carousel Productions, Carell and partners’ production company will be shooting the independent film.
As we wait to slate this July. “The Office” star punched into Princeton U class of 2012. In his humorous way, Carell
offered advice, tips and about his 2008 purchase of the Marshfield General Store.
“A few years ago, I bought a tiny, 150-year-old general store in Massachusetts. A Norman Rockwell study. Here, kids buy penny candy and ice cream, their parents drop by for a cup of coffee, and to say hello to their neighbors. It is a place of community. A place of true human connection and kinship. When it came up for sale, there was a real danger that this wonderful piece of history would cease to exist, so I bought it. But I didn’t buy it for financial gain. God knows, there’s not a lot of money in penny candy. And I didn’t buy it to preserve it as a local landmark.I bought this quaint little anachronism because I wanted people to think I was a really nice guy. A kind, generous, giving man, who cares about history, and about the people in this little Massachusetts town. I am not that man, but fortunately, people think that I am.” Steve you rock!
Since Carell clocked out of Dunder Mifflin his film career has boomed. Steve grew up in Acton, MA and married a South Shore actress Nancy Walls in 1995. They have two children and spend their summers in, where else, MARSHVEGAS!
