The Eighth Annual Screenwriting Awards and Networking event hosted by Women in Film and Video New England (WIFVNE), a non-profit organization dedicated to support the accomplishments of women working in the film biz will be happening Sunday, September 26th. “The WIFVNE Screenwriting Competition aims to promote the work of women screenwriters and support the creation of worthy film roles for women. Entries must be authored or co-authored by a woman and/or feature a woman or women in prominent roles,” the website shares.
The shindig will be celebrating in style at the Stuart Street Playhouse in Boston where three finalists await their fate for the 2010 Screenwriting Grand Prize winner. The big winner will receive a detailed script analysis and consultation from Grub Street, a local Boston based creative writing center – valued at a over $100. All three finalists will receive a screenwriting software package from Final Draft, and a 6-month online script placement service by Inktip.com, a dot com that helps connect producers and screenwriters.
The event will also be featuring a workshop with blockbuster Groundhog Day‘s screenwriter, Danny Rubin, award-winning Lulu in Berlin’s writer, Susan Steinberg and Marc Weinberg, writer for USA network, A&E.
