Dalton Gang Productions, an independent feature film operated corporation based out of West Haven, CT, founded by Nathan Wrann and his wife Kimberley Dalton, are gearing up to begin shooting Wrann’s adaption flick of The Fall of The House of Usher, starring William Beckett here in Hollywood East. The classic short story by the great Bostonian born Edgar Allen Poe was first published over 170 years ago.“My adaption isn’t going to be a replacement for his story, it’s a companion to it,” Wrann tells HEC. “The movie will be enjoyable as a standalone piece but a familiarity with Poe’s writing either before or after the film will greatly enhance the experience.”

It was only a few months ago when Wrann announced the lead role in the flick, William Beckett. Wrann and Beckett have been friends for about five years.  They were first introduced when Wrann interviewed him for his music webzine and they soon became fast friends.  “He has a great energy, presence and dedication.  So when I was writing the adaptation for The Fall of the House of Usher I called him up and asked him if I could get a week or so of his time this winter, he said ‘yes’ so I wrote the part with him in mind,” Wrann tells us.

Wrann and his partner in crime have produced two CT based feature films, the most recent, Burning Inside, which was played at festivals around and is currently available for purchase by Channel Midnight Releasing. And just like those films, all the shooting will be done in CT this winter. The Fall of The House of Usher will be the first film in which Wrann will have a fully stacked production team. “The possibilities of being the general of a tiny army of dedicated artists working toward a common vision is really exciting,” Wrann shares.

Although Wrann admits adapting Poe’s original work was a “very daunting task” and “questioned changing anything he wrote” Dalton Gang Productions is looking forward to the events that shall follow this winter and are super pumped to start shooting the flick, The Fall of the House of Usher. “I hope that it will inspire people who may be unfamiliar with him to seek out his work and discover the beauty in it,” Wrann shares.
