20th Century Fox recently announced that Sean Hayes, most well-known for his work on the hit TV show “Will and Grace,” will be joining the cast of the new Farrelly Brothers remake of the classic comedic trio, The Three Stooges. The film which is set to start filming in Georgia later this month, will co-star Will Sasso, as Curly, with Hayes filling the role of Larry. Moe is still yet to be cast.

This film has been a long time in the making with big names like Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro, and Sean Penn once attached to the project, but dropping out later as the picture seemed to get put on a permanent hold. The movie was also at one time rumored to possibly be filming in Rhode Island, the home state of the Farrelly brothers, as is often the case for many of their projects. Instead, the project will be commencing in Georgia, another state with generous tax incentives available for movie-makers.

Despite the southern local, C.P. Casting is still handling the casting of the film, and recently put a call out for 9-13 year old boys who are 4’7” to 5’0” tall to play a young Curly Howard. Boys should be able to “imitate, embody, and characterize” the iconic slapstick comedian. The casting will be taking place this Sunday, April 17, from 10AM to 3PM at the (seriously) Curley Community Center in South Boston. A copy of the audition script can be found at CP Casting.com.
