The 2009 Boston Health Expo took place on June 27th and 28th at the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street. In addition to the numerous demonstrations, exhibit tables, and free health screenings, the expo also brought a number of television stars to the hub.
Teyona Anderson, winner of cycle 12, the most recent “America’s Next Top Model”, made an appearance, giving a talk about her experience on the show. While the popular and wildly successful show is hosted and produced by Tyra Banks, Anderson remarked on how limited their time was with the supermodel, only seeing her during judging panel and certain photo-shoots.
When Hollywood East Connection asked the wispy winner what her favorite perk about being a model was, she excitedly replied “The travel. And the free stuff! But I definitely love to travel.
Celtics star Ray Allen (also of Spike Lee’s He Got Game) was scheduled to make an appearance, but had to back out at last minute, due to the birth of his third son, Win Rider Allen.
WHDH 7 News’s Frances Rivera hosted demonstrations at The Dish Healthy Cooking Stage, fielding questions from the audience and signing autographs. Other TV personalities that made appearances include Anne Thompson of NBC News and contestants from “The Biggest Loser”.
