Active support for the performing arts community can be hard come by. Luckily for the New England area, Whitebridge Farm Productions is a New Hampshire based organization that specializes in creating opportunities for local actors and film production crews. This film and theater production company was founded by Academy Award winning author of On Golden Pond, Ernest Thompson, along with partners Morgan Murphy and Lori Gigliotti Murphy.
Ernest Thompson has had a long and successful career in both film and theater, and in addition to his Oscar, has won a Writers Guild Award, Broadway Drama Guild Award and Golden Globe, while being nominated for even more. Watch this recent interview with Fox news where Thompson talks about how he launched the famous made-in-New Hampshire film, On Golden Pond:
Whitebridge Farm Productions hosts various workshops throughout the year, all of which focus on a particular aspect of the performing arts. Their “Acting for the Camera” class is an excellent 6-week course that centers on increasing the local talent pool for the different productions in the area. “Acting for the Camera” is growing, and opening up classes at multiple locations around the Lake Region this year.
Another upcoming workshop, “Writing On Golden Pond,” takes place over a weekend and is devoted to teaching the process of creating and envisioning a script. It is taught by Ernest Thompson, and on the final day there are readings by professional actors of the written material produced.
With even more workshops and events offered to better the theater and film community, 2010 proves to be an exciting and promising year for Whitebridge Farm Productions. You can visit their website here.
