It’s Showtime for the Acton, MA native, Steve Carell. Only months after leaving Dunder Mifflin, Carell punches into a new position, Executive Producer of a new comedy series“Laughing Stock”.
The 10-episode half-hour ab cruncher hosted by David Steinberg, “Laughing Stock” will feature a split work out of sit-down one-on-one interviews with the best comedians of our time including Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fey and Ellen DeGeneres. The famed comics will suck in and flex us stories about the bumps, the bruises and perks along the way.
“We have gathered a monumental assortment of comedic legends, and their contemporary protégées,” Carell said in a statement announcing the news. “It’s enlightening, fascinating, but more importantly, it’s funny.”
“What makes our show unique is you will see the comedian’s connections to each other and to those who have influenced them in the past,” said Steinberg. “It’s like getting a look at a comedy tree of the last five decades.”
“Laughing Stock” is rumored to sit up in early twenty-twelve on Showtime.
Carell has also been bathing by the box office in the newly released Crazy, Stupid, Love. Not only does the Humarock beach boy love his new tan, it’s the first flick of Carousel Productions, Carell and partners’ production companies first smok’en six-pack.
Nice career path, Mr Carell!
