Boston’s annual Health and Fitness Expo is gearing up for this coming weekend, promising a host of both local and national celebrities will be stopping by to give talks, sign autographs, and meet the crowds at this popular yearly event.

Among the famous faces that will be making appearances at this year’s event include Olivia Ward, winner of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”, Hannah Curlee, runner-up on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”, Joy Bauer, nutrition/health expert for NBC’s “Today Show”, and Brittani Kline, winner of “America’s Next Top Model” cycle 16, and Molly O’Connell, runner-up on “American’s Next Top Model” cycle 16.

On the sports side of things, Celtics team mascot, Lucky & Wally the Green Monster, New England Patriots legend, Tedy Bruschi, Boston Celtics, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, and Bruins star, Shawn Thornton, who’s been a popular man in town lately, coming off his team’s first Stanley Cup win in 39 years and their corresponding “rolling rally” victory parade just this past weekend.

In addition to these nationally known stars, all your locally familiar faces from channel 7 will be making appearances and participating in demonstrations, as well as signing autographs. Frances Rivera will also be hosting her well known “The Dish” Healthy Cooking Stage, where local chefs and food experts will be showing audiences healthy recipes and food preparation tips that can help improve their nutrition.

The Boston Health Expo will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday, June 25th and 26th, from 10AM to 4PM at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Visit the Health Expo website for the schedule of events and for more information.

On Marathon Monday, actress Valerie Bertinelli, just days shy of her 50th birthday, competed in the 114th Boston Marathon. The current Jenny Craig spokesperson, who lost a reported 40 pounds on the program, completed the race in 5 hours and 14 minutes running with her personal trainer, and raising money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The marathon also featured another notable weight loss example, Tracy Yukich, a former contestant from TV’s “Biggest Loser”.

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was in Brighton Monday afternoon (not Ellen herself, but rather a camera crew and production assistants feeding live to LA). Fans were notified via Ellen’s Twitter to assemble at the CVS at 207 Market Street, and bring with them one item each starting with the letters C, V, and S. Those fans with the most funny/amusing/entertaining items were interviewed by Ellen via satellite, then selected to go in the store to try to win prizes. Ellen’s tweets promised the “very cool” flock of fans that gathered, that the top prize was “a gift worth thousands!” The eventual winner went home with a $5,000 CVS gift card. Afterwards, Ellen beamed “I love the city of Boston! Ya’ll were amazingly creative. Thanks for playing one of our biggest Twitter games ever!”
