“Men of a Certain Age” Showcases Local Talent

Emerging in the monstrous shadow of Emmy-winner Ray Romano‘s syndicated television show “Everybody Loves Raymond” is the funnyman’s sophomore effort as executive producer, “Men of a Certain Age.” The hour-long show, dubbed a “midlife triumph” by Entertainment Weekly, explores the friendship of three college buddies as they learn to navigate the other side of the hill in their 40s.

The dramedy features the all-star tag-team of Golden Globe-winner Scott Bakula (Terry) and Emmy-winner Andre Braugher (Owen) alongside Romano (Joe). But “Men” takes advantage of New England’s talent pool as well; Bostonians Brian J. White of “The Shield” and Brittany Curran of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” both have recurring roles this season. White will play Marcus, a young, charming car salesman, and Curran will play Lucy, Joe’s daughter.

In a recent interview on Kiss 108‘s Matty in the Morning, White expressed his enthusiasm about the show: “It’s a little bit like ‘Californication’ meets ‘thirtysomething’ meets ‘Sex and the City’ for guys. I’m really really proud of it. I think you guys are going to like it.”

“Men of a Certain Age” will premiere on Monday, December 7 at 10pm on TNT. Check out the promo below for a sneak peek at Romano’s latest project.
