It looks like it’s working. HEC has noticed some extracurricular activity going down over at the Charlestown Union Hall. “Teamsters” PILOT anyone? Only Union roles available.

It was back in March when A&E Networks President and GM Bob DeBitetto announced that A&E is partnering with executive

producers Mark Wahlberg, whose late father was a Local 25 truck driver, Stephen Levinson, Kevin Harrrison and Bill Thompson on the unscripted pilot “Teamsters”, featuring the Local 25 Teamsters here in Boston.

“It’s one of the greatest unions in the world and the backbone of the middle class,” said Wahlberg.

And in the past week or so.  Production equipment and unmarked white vans are welding the hall. This kind of action only months after A&E networks signed a deal? Lights, camera, Union Hall! Let’s nail it in. The Bay State is always ready to hammer more reality.

“A&E strives to remain ahead of the curve while delivering first class auspices to our audience,” said DeBitetto. “We’re so proud to collaborate with this group of producers and offer an authentic point of view from the unique characters this world provides.”

A&E is known for truthful script telling and how stories originate. “Teamsters” will certainly be a team effort among Union workers. Sure the teaser sold the concept to the cable network but this week the pilot episode will need to work overtime. The reality series will shed light on Local 25 while battling the rights of their 11,000 members.

We are still waiting to hear more deets from the President of Local 25, Sean O’Brien. This isn’t the first time O’Brien’s crew have had close ties with Mark.  Local 25 worked on past hits like The Fighter. It’s now time for the Teamsters to fight for a reality series.
